This course shall give a basic understanding of biofuels production processes. The influence of biomass structure on the resulting biofuels composition, characteristics of biofuels, combustion modeling and energy balances are examined. The application and potentials of renewable fuels in IC engines, gas turbines and furnaces are evaluated. The potential and application of hydrogen is discussed.

The lecture "Energy from Biofuels" has a workload of 3 ECTS.
